I love a cuppa (Lyon’s Green label is king) and I think a chat over a cup of tea can help solve almost anything.
Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, I’m now happily settled in rural Tipperary with my husband, kids, cats, chickens and dogs. When I’m not studying for my postgrad in Technical Writing (or feeding the aforementioned children and animals), I enjoy freelance writing and working on my blog.
In Autumn 2011, I received a B.A. in the Humanities and English language from the Open University. I thoroughly enjoyed the coursework and linguistic analyses, however, I realised I needed to take this further when I became slightly obsessed with editing my coursework.
The amazing news of becoming pregnant with twins in 2009, meant my writing plans were put on hold until the kids began pre-school. Then, I took my chance to pursue a freelance writing career and thankfully my efforts are paying off. For nearly 2 years I have been writing for an amazing Irish magazine – Mums and Tots. I love writing magazine/feature articles and online content. I relish a variety of writing challenges and the research that entails, and I also ghost write a blog for an Irish business as well as Put the Kettle on.
I’m always on the lookout for my next project, so if you’re interested in hiring me as a freelance writer, please check out my portfolio, my linked in profile, and get in touch.
In spring, I’ll be finished my postgrad in Technical Writing from the University of Limerick and will be seeking a permanent technical writing position.

Hi there! I have nominated you for the Liebster award. If you are interested in participating, please head over to my blog and check out the rules. Either way, I just wanted to acknowledge you and mention that I really enjoy your blog and your adventures with your twins. 🙂
Oh thank you Liane. That is so sweet. I was nominated a little while ago, and I have a few projects at the moment. I might park it and come back in a a little while if you don’t mind. I’m always curious to see what others think of my blog though, so I’ll be over for a peek! Thanks again :0D
No problem at all! Do it if you can and when you can and don’t stress about it at all. 🙂
The look of your blog is so much of what I wish mine was. Looking forward to following. Oh, and do tell me off sternly if you find me accidentally pinching any of your layout ideas!
Oh thank you! I changed the images last week and I’m finally happy with it. You are very welcome to pinch my ideas 🙂 I’m really enjoying your blog. I think you and I are of the same vintage – that was a very good year :0)
Hee hee. A good vintage – Here here to that!
Wow you really have your hands full. It’s amazing how you manage so much with a pair of 4 year olds (Mine is 4 going on 5 as well).
All the best,
Zainab
Thanks Zainab! I wrote that post about the grocery shopping shortly after I started my blog and I really needed to get it off my chest! 🙂 I’m not too busy really. As long as I schedule time to do things I get it done. My guys are 4 and a half too. Do you have boys/girls or one of each like me?
No I only have the one boy. Sometimes I get overwhelmed just by him 🙂
Ha! Well, I know how demanding a four-year-old boy can be. Nice to meet you Zainab 🙂
Hey glad that you followed my blog. I will be around to know more about you.
May Allah bless you and your loved ones.ameen
Lovely to meet you Afsheen.
Take care!
I noticed you liked one of my posts so I came over for a visit. What a wonderful surprise to find my avatar in your “Blogs I Like” widget. Oh, and I love your choice of themes … 😉
Thank you for calling! 🙂 I was very impressed by your blog and your writing. I want to improve my own writing and earn some money too if I can. I make a little, but more would be great! I look forward to reading more of your fantastic blog. 🙂
