The Irish Parenting Blog Awards 2015- Winners & Photos

AWARDS LOGO

The Irish Parenting Blog Awards took place in the Odessa Roof top bar in Dublin on Saturday night. The new awards came about after hearing that the blog awards in October 2014 would be the last. A dinner and group night out was suggested a few months ago which then flourished into our own full-blown awards with amazing sponsors, goodie bags, food and drink  – everything you can imagine! The Odessa had it all and was the perfect spot for us.

I’d always known the Irish Parenting Bloggers group had some smart, talented ladies in its ranks, but these women have blown me away. How they managed to create transparent and fair awards while remaining wonderful and patient with us and our silly questions is unbelievable. I’m guessing Sylda is probably quite tired of hearing ‘Sylda for Taoiseach!’ Failing that, I still reckon the Irish Parenting bloggers are in a good position to take over the world. Seriously, we have artists, chefs, editors, and experts in law, planning, finance, genetics, PR, not forgetting alpacas and giraffes!

The super organisers were: Sylda from Mindthebaby.ie, Lisa from Mama.ie, Laura from Raising Elves, Fiona from Dolly Dowsie, Helen from The Busymamas.ie, and Suzy from The Airing Cupboard who also designed our fantastic logo. Patricia from Colorine’s wonderful designed and made our wonderful personalised trophies. Even the fantastic #IPAwards plaque was designed by Kellie from My Little Babóg.

It was great fun to mingle with some of the top bloggers whom I idolise and to meet some of the impressive newcomers who, I thought, were very brave to attend an event where lots of established bloggers are already acquainted.

After a gorgeous 3 course meal with some unexpected games and prizes between courses, we headed upstairs for the awards presented by Sylda from Mind the Baby.ie. Spirits were high, yet the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. My only regret is I didn’t stop talking for long enough to taste the canapés as apparently they were divine.

I’m so proud to be part of this amazing group and what they’ve achieved, so I really can’t wait for next year! I tried to take as many photos as possible, however it’s obvious now that I got a little distracted and wandered off a few times to enjoy myself – it was that good!

Here are the incredible winners! You should definitely swing by their blogs for a read. I follow all them and they are so dedicated and deserving.
